swine flu symptoms

According to pediatrics.about.com, here are the symptoms for swine flu:

Swine Flu Symptoms

According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:

  • fever, which is usually high, but unlike seasonal flu, is sometimes absent (sort of felt like I had a fever this morning)
  • cough (check)
  • runny nose or stuffy nose (sometimes…)
  • sore throat (check)
  • body aches (check)
  • headache (not really)
  • chills  (check)
  • fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme (I guess so)
  • diarrhea and vomiting, sometimes, but more commonly seen than with seasonal flu  (I feel like vomiting but it hasn’t happened yet)

If you think about it though, these symptoms sound really similar to a regular flu or a regular cold. It’s so vague. How are you supposed to know if you have it? Maybe when you feel like you’re dying? I’m just going to sit in bed and transcribe an interview with a cup of Theraflu. Hopefully I’ll be okay. 😦
